The golden spot stuff reminds me of the towering inferno poster. When the film was made steve mcqueen and paul newman were supposed to share equal billing, but both wanted to be the star. Newman and mcqueen, who used to refer to newman as "the cunt" , went through a long legal battle to be billed first on the poster, eventually both had to agree to the type of their names appearing the same size, and newman won the right to appear "higher up" than mcqueen. after mcqueen gave it some thought, he agreed, but only on the condition that his name and picture went on the left, and newman higher up on the right, as, he said, "even though the cunts name is higher up, everyone looks at the left first"
