and let's be clear about something. elizabeth shue was the quientessential 80's high school girlfriend, and her work in karate kid was only surpassed by that inspired performance in adventures in babysitting, where she not only rescued a friend (penelope ann miller, the gf from carlito's way) from the chicago grey hound station but also partnered with thor to fight a gang of killer mafiosos, sang "the babysitting blues" at an all black club, and still had the time to look sexy in her playboy spread.
add her role in leaving las vegas in the early 90's, and well, i'm not sure if my future wife can ever compensate...
