Of course, one of the positive outcomes has been the fall of the Saddam dictatorship. Though I think that the 'simple' interests are not so simple. Specially when it comes to money. Besides, history has proven that the US government has no interest in democracy. If democracy goes according to their interests, then it's democracy.
I'm still glad they finished Saddam, but I'm also sure that a 'guest' that stays for too long ends up being a nuisance.
