I’m married to one. Going over in a couple of weeks. Bulgaria is beautiful. The country in general is still very poor, everything’s cheap for foreigners. But the progress their making is vast. They got things over their now that you don’t see much of even in England. These building appear like magic, hotels, casinos, nightclubs etc. most probably funded by the mafia, which has a big presence over there.
The Coast is brilliant, unfortunately the spread of your typical British tourist, (pissed up fat bastard in a football top, in arm with chavette) is destroying any form of style they had. Choose one of the beaches which are used by the (richer) locals instead. And the woman are Hot!, but I got one of them already :)
