i did some work for palmsource about a year ago. i don't have links, but one thing i learned was to bump up the contrast about half as much as you normally would for a regular screen. people tend to use pda's in various lighting conditions and glare is sometimes an issue. if you know flash, then try mocking up designs and using them on the device your developing for (most pda's support flash).
