my main problem with spielberg's version of pkd's really interesting short story is the fact that spielberg has this insane want to tie everything, EVERYTHING together... and then explain it all to us again at the end of the film...
and to devot 25 minutes of film, explaining to the audience what just all happened in the past hour and a half of what they all just watched is such a waste of time....
i do believe the audience is smarter than he thinks.
and if they are not, fuck them.
you don't dumb a story down just for the audience' sake. fuck those people that can't think conceptually. fuck those people that can't tie ideas together in their own head and figure it out for themselves.
i'm tired of hollywood panning to the masses of stupid americans and ruining good fiction at the same time.
ooooh great. i hear dumb and dumberer, the sequel is coming out.
fucking great.
