i have a cat and have to say it's completely useless when it comes to pick ups. Yeah sure it makes you look cool when you bring a lady over and she sees the little bastard... but untill she actually sets her foot in your place you are on your own (although menstioning your cat somehow helps as then they ask for its name and it doesn't really have one etc).
