(Jul 18 05, 15:35)Yes it does. It also applies to Airport Express as well (on OS 10.3 and 10.4). My advice is to upgrade to Airport 4.2 but deny the firmware update.
The benefit of 4.2 is that you can achieve a much stonger signal (or Apple have re-calibrated the bar!).
