the motive behind every art / design style is breaking away from the norm. it is a niche area until it becomes mainstream (in design world at least).
even though it is our job as designers to come up with innovateive design elements and ideas for better communcation or art to capture the momentary thouights of the people, it is very hard to break away from the trend and the norm that surrounds you.
