nothing in my opinion, but they didn't see it that way... i think it came down to personal preference of having me onsite to call upon at a moments notice... personally feel the same as you in that my job can be done remotely with ease.
on another note... i wouldn't stress too much, you will find something in your new habitat... things will always work out, specially when you have skills and talent like yourself.
