    Since most of the projects i shoot start SD res then using 2.35:1 would be pushing it as just too much res is being thrown out (except the 2 newest one one being HD and other 35mm). Thus if we go letterbox usually it means 1.85:1. i think 1.85:1 is kinda boring format though (although it's closest to our vision) and doesn't lends itself to stylistic shots the way 2.35:1 or 4:3 is. I actually like full frame a lot and whevener i get a chance try to shoot in that format mainly because so few cool things are being done nowdays with it. I mean think of all those early movies where they had to shoot full frame some of that shit is stunning and while you get bored watching well composed but ultimately boring stuff shot 1.85:1 each time i watch a good old movie i'm constantly amazed.
