i remember my experience of portland
2am downtown
i see a glitzy hotel with expansive cars outside, across the street is bon fire of barrels and homeless people. the gas station with no name with think bullet proof glass and metal bars. where i could barely make out the person behind the glass due to thick grease over the window. as i was about to put in the gas. a bum approched. as positioned my self in to a defensive, he said "you gotta pay before you pump" and slowly disappered in to the darkness of the street.
