What makes us great?
The Power and ecomoics of scale. Same as Starbucks. Crappy coffee that became great. We are the 800 lb gorilla sitting in a cage filled with little white bunnies. Could all these white bunnies gang up and overthrow the Gorilla.. Maybe, but the chances are close to nil. As a gorilla you should be happy you are such. And go about your day being the best gorilla you can be. Every once in a while have fun and beat your chest and chuckle as all the white bunnies scatter.
All countries believe in war because it is how all countries were created. All countries dream of world or regional dominance. It's helps them economically. Your power only streches as far as your military force.
The UN is an entity that wishes it had power. It's a group of powerful people (mostly men) that wish their visions or worldly truths become the standard. But the UN has no power. It leans so heavily on the US that it will eventually fail at this task under it's own stupidity. If the UN wanted to attack a country in the name of "UN peace" it has no power to do so. It needs American aircraft carriers to get them there.
They have become an entity with the sole purpose of feeding nations that are on their own self induced death beds. These are countires that have failed. Their religions or governments hinder their own advancement.
America has done quite a bit in 250 years. We are fighting cultures that have been around for thousands of years and the only reason they are still around is because the sit on a reserve of oil. Lucky them. We have progressed while they stand still. Our children eat Oscar Myer Lunchables, while their children starve.
Our system is not perfect. Far from it. But all in all it's been good to us.
