funny you should mention it, i just spray painted my Sony 28" silver telly, matte black last week... cant stand silver chrome products.. never could
it was alot easier than expected actually.. 6 screws out and some tape and newspapers to cover the glass was all i needed, and it turned out pretty good, but it will need another layer before its perfect.
