The only problem is that intentionally killing innocent lives is escalating the problem and by not condoning the events as they take place as loudly as you condone Iraq or history you have terrorists believe that by intentionally killing innocent lives their plan is working.
Republican
(Jul 10 05, 08:36)Do you mean "condemn" rather than "condone"?
If so, then of course "liberals" the world over condemn these attacks. Your argument is simplistic, inflammatory and offensive. The idea that if we disagree with Blair's foreign policy, we are condoning the attacks in London, is simplistic and illogical.
Many of us in London have been expressing our disapproval for Blair's foreign policy for some time now, but that doesn't mean that we see these cowardly attacks on our city as anything but the work of murderous psychopaths.
Your analogy seems to forget that it isn't Blair who was attacked, it wasn't an attack on the powerful, it was aimed at the common people of london, the working classes of this city who are made up of every religion, race and way of life that can exist in a truly and wonderfully multi-cultural society.
The aim of these attacks is to divide Londoners, to make us mistrust our neighbours and remove our sense of freedom, and in that they will never succeed.
One london blog put it well:
"We don't much like our government, or what they do in our name. But we'll deal with that ourselves. We're London, and we've got our own way of doing things, and it doesn't involve tossing bombs around where innocent people are going about their lives. "That goes for you too Republican, trying to use our tragedy to illustrate your own political agenda is pathetic and will be treated with the contempt it deserves.
