yea, the one i got the source to had the flash talking to php and xml...
the php would evalutae the folder, and create an XML document which flash would read. it also read ID3 tag. you would just upload the files to the folder.
it was crazy. just FTP the songs, and the flash delt with it!.. still looking for the code...
