In the US a 'roll' can refer to a tablet of ecstasy, the phenethylamine made popular in the 90s due to its desirable effects on the mind and body.
In the UK, a 'roll' is a fist-sized lump of bread, popularised by its ability to neatly hold fillings which may include cheese, salad, etc.
Imagine my surprise upon a recent visit to the UK when a 'roll' I purchased did indeed moderate my serotonin and dopamine reuptake inhibition, , cause me to release the hormone oxytocin, and to bother my fellow travellers with seemingly endless diatribes on techno music, state oppression and 3rd rate philoshopy...
