when i started designing in '94ish it was all print work (since there wasn't really an internet to speak of)
by '99-2000 i got the gig as an art director to an IT firm doing mainly web work...
at the time i honestly didn't know fuck all about web design, but the head honchos there wanted someone with a lot of advertising and design experience that they could take to high level meetings with clients...and i fit the bill for them..
since then i've worked in web and print..
    NO regrets.
there is no downside to working in both...
in fact, i think it helps keep the creative energy going if you can do both..
design is design, and obviously there are radical differences between the two, (online and print) but fuck anyone that says 'jack of all trades master of none' type shit..
if you're good, you can do excellent work in both worlds..
besides, it just adds to your net worth, so to speak..
    cheers
