before you bash the site, the software itself costed alot plus the top of the line hardware...
they didnt just hire a web shop to do the work..
they hired a largest consulting firm in the world to do the work. This just didnt involve making a site and doing the regular stuff that smaller web shop would do.
we also did business analysis, strategy, operate, and others..
in a project this size, we dont just take the money and run. we have fulltime ppl working there to take care of things. most important thing with this project is the shared risk. if the site and its backend system didnt work properly, and failed to achieve its business goals, the companay does not get the money. how many companies that actually do that?
