    Your monitor has a color profile of some sort (i think you can find it on the install disk or check the manufacturer download page).

    I use the color profile installed w/my monitors... works dandy. If you don't like the preview of your monitor's profile.. stick w/the adobe 1998 rgb one - that one always seems fairly balanced across monitors.

    cmyk's always going to be a bitch on screen - i usually stick w/adobe's default... but you may want to ask one of Printer's or Pre-press places that you use if they'll calibrate your monitor for optimal cmyk preview settings... pre-press nerds are brilliant w/monitor color settings. :)
