I watch any feature animation so had to check this one too although i was expecting something i would hate with the terrible crap, Shark Tale was still fresh in my mind.
But it turned out fine, would have to look up who the creative crew behind this one was but it certainly outdid Shark Tale in every way, it kinda reminded me of Ice Age from the technical execution and style.
It remains a kids movie of course but has plenty of gags and references for "parents" that may at some point seem over the top but the great animation and character designs and even direction this time makes it very enjoyable.
The biggest complaint i have about these 3d movies from the experience standpoint is the voice casting. I don't care a fuck that they are famous well known actors. That doesn't make them fit a character or be technically good voice actor. And to top that i constantly am reminded of the actual actors face kinda spoling the experience. I would instead put the character designer, storyboard artist, director, on the poster instead of the famous voices.
but then again, i'm probably not the target audience.
