hmm.. I kinda thought they used magnets.
but watching those tires closely...they don't lose momentum when going up the ramp. in fact one tire bumps another and stops for a split second, then continues to move upward. it lost momentum then regained it... that's not possible even with weights, if my pitiful background in physics is correct.
