My dad was a trawler man. He used to catch the occasional 'super-size' turbot in the arctic circle that they had to drag around for a couple of hours to tire it out before bringing it on board.
To give you an idea of size it was about 2ft (60cm approx) thick. That's pretty thick for a flat fish. Here's some normal examples: http://images.google.co.uk/image…
