You don't need to use Coldfusion to use Flash Remoting MX. It also supports .NET and a few other services. If you really want to learn something new, .NET is a FAR better choice than coldfusion.
But I'm not even sure what you can do with Remoting MX that you can't do with PHP/MySQL.Flash and a little bit of cleverness.
Anyone explain what Remoting MX does? I've looked over the product site and I still don't really get it.
