Jersey City police responding to a call of a fight in a Jersey Avenue apartment building Wednesday night approached a drunken 49-year-old man in the lobby who immediately told them "I didn't do anything!"
Inside an apartment, cops found his girlfriend slashed across her throat, stomach and forearms, and a steak knife covered in blood and hair in the kitchen sink, reports said.
The woman, found unconscious in a pool of blood, woke up long enough to tell cops, "He cut me with a steak knife and he might still have it," reports said.
