I have a client who insists into using GettyImages without paying them for the images

getty wont care if you have it....they will tell you that you should know better....there may be a legal way around this....and you can still get paid....
the only way you could absolve yourself from this could be to give him an itemized list with prices and photo numbers from getty....
put it on a sheet that then says that they are responsible for buying the images. have them sign it saying that you are not responsible for attaining copyright privileges...(make a lawyer write this)
If you are the one posting on their website then I would make the sticking point that you will deliver the files but you will not post until they give you proof of copyright clearance.
If they decide to put it up ....at that point you would be in the clear as long as you have a signed disclaimer with image numbers and prices showing that you told them they were not to post until receiving clearance.... then its on them to be ethical... but then you did the right thing as well and took yourself out of the equation
