Digital is easier in a lot of cases because it is much faster.
Just as film has a lot of flexibility in terms of pushing film, contrast filters, and dodging and burning -
Digital has a lot of the same types of techniques shooting in RAW format and editing in PS or another program.
Digital is just much faster, but the same principles apply. Invariably learning traditional photography will also help you take better digital photos also.
