Yah, I think where is sort of important.
Not been in years, but used to go offshore for Cod in Mass with my stepdad every summer while he and my mom lived there.
Also, Bluefish from any of the charter services in New Hampshire that will take you to the Ile of Shoals would be a good bet. Bluefish fight like crazy! Largest I ever caught was 18 lbs.
I did go on a 4 hour trip in Cancun while there for my roommate from college's wedding, but the guy took no Dramamine before we left, drank beer the whole way out in 6 ft. swells, and ended up puking so much that after we barely had lines in the water for 20 minutes, he tells the captain we need to turn around and go back to shore.
Man I was mad! We were fishing for Sailfish, and two guys on a boat before us each caught a 75 pounder that was about 6 feet long.
I was so mad you have no idea.
I took my pill, drank beer nonstop and felt great.
