  what you've done is right, and it's a little difficult to work out the problem without seeing your set up.

  the other way to do it tho, which is easier, is to keep your root folder static. next to your root folder keep a folder called 'sites', for example, and as you change from working on one site to another you just move the old site from root, to your sites folder, and you new site from sites into root. you dig?
