Yars - from the beginning I have stated my problem has been with the subset of American Christianity that I have referred to specifically as fundamentalists that a) literally translates the Bible and b) uses that as a basis to influence public policy and promote inherent misinterpretations about American society.

This is an example from todays news here in NY:

The leader of a conservative Christian lobby group appears to suggest that gays should be required to wear warning labels, although he denies that was his intention.

"We put warning labels on cigarette packs because we know that smoking takes one to two years off the average life span, yet we 'celebrate' a lifestyle that we know spreads every kind of sexually transmitted disease and takes at least 20 years off the average life span according to the 2005 issue of the revered scientific journal Psychological Reports," Rev. Bill Banuchi, executive director of the New York Christian Coalition told the Mid Hudson News.

I find the movement vaguely fascist and scary. I am against their influence in government lobbying. As an American it is my right.

In no way have I alluded about the inherent moral goodness of christianity in general, of which I am a member.

If you want to ignore it and think I am broad brushing christianity or even good christian americans in general you sir are misreading me.

I am standing against fasiscm and not religion.
