Agreed slowpoke - some interesting points.

This would be a great bargaining tool for all designers. Some work may generate millions for the client, but the designer may only charge for 10 hours work!!!
This is so difficult to work out, unless you have access to financial records of your clients etc.
I guess this is where 'marketing companies' have the upper hand, they tend to get much more involved with their clients, obviuosly taking into account their expenditure and income and percived growth etc.
With design/artwork the considerations tend to be more 'visually' biased.
