Additionally, we have a prejuidice in the 20th/21st century west against the supernatural. We have made the mistake of thinking that science must somehow negate the spiritual realm. It's foolish to suggest that just because we have not experienced or "seen" something that it does not exist. God dealt with people in the O.T. according to their culture. He revealed himself and his dealings in a way appropriate for that dispensation. This does not mean he does not intervene in the lives of believers supernatural ways today, but the focus of Christ's ministry was for us to believe without "seeing". He stressed seeing in our "hearts". Faith.
