Dizzying. Once again this thread has launched into a thousand different directions, each a discussion in themselves. I'm just going to throw out some random points...

ID - Means Intelligent Design, Tick. There are plenty of Jewish and non-Christian- Theist scientists who embrace it. So, as desperately as you want it to be some kind of Christian agenda that wants to infiltrate governement and public schools, you are completely wrong. It's about observing the complexity of organisms and conlcuding that certain things did and did not take place, scientifically. Logically, what science is observing should be taught in our classrooms. At the very least, Darwinism should not be taught as fact and the only legitimate belief out there. You really need to get familiarized with what is being claimed by ID scientists. Period.

"Fundies" - You're clearly prejuidiced against anyone who takes the Bible as the inerrant word of God from cover to cover despite the scores of brilliant Scholars & Theologians, Professors and Authors. Again, your caricature of those who literally believe it doesn't stand up against the facts. Conservative scholars probably outnumber the liberal ones who teach it as a good book of allegorical stories. Yet they have equal academic credentials.

Fact - Archaeology has it's roots in Christianity, whether you like it or not. Numerous artifacts have been recovered which confirm locations, names and objects in the Bible. Say the word and I'll list you some examples. This doesn't even take into consideration the reliability of the Old Testament manuscripts and how there shouldn't even be question about the narritive they present. You don't question historical records that have even half of the reliabilty that the Biblical manuscripts do.

And it's more accurate to say that we live in a Post Modern culture that is reacting against earlier modernist principles. We are realizing that the notions from 150 years ago aren't quite as sound as we once thought. People are hungry. People are searching.
