First I'm from there. Grew up there and miss it like crazy! Can't wait to go back home. Where are you going to stay? If you are going to be near the center (near the Duomo), I highly suggested to get a two wheel transportation vehicle (like bicycle, scooter or a bike). Trust nowaydays is the best way to go around. But be careful we are pretty crazy drivers, and we go fast.
People are overall pretty friendly.
There are museums, art galleries, great restaurants, awesome night life, and pretty girls! =)Now Milan is busy city, lots of businesses and stores, and there a lot of immigrant from many conutries nearby (eastern europe, and North Africa mostly).
One thing that I keep hearing is that Milan is pretty damn expensive to live in!
I've been gone 8 years now (I live in the States), but I'll go back in heart bit if I could.
