Mimio, there are a few Escatological positions prevalent in the Church today: Pre-tribulation, Post-tribulation, Amillenial, etc... Some posit that Christ will return for believers in this lifetime, others say he won't. It's a peripheral issue... a non-essential... a fun to chat over beer and a burger, discussion. God purposed it to be that way. I'm failing to see the issue you're making of it.
