    You might have decent success with the bluerobot css pages you can copy and modify. I've been doing that myself and have a header with two columns below. It's just trial and error, repeat, trial and error, and again. The header and the columns below should be contained in some kind of container div that keeps them centered.
    I think I have the columns below the header positioned absolutely, but they center because of the container box.
