I bet you have a lemon. If it's under warranty return it.
I love my Apple wireless mouse. It's actually really fast, and I don't even have it on the highest setting. Never blips.
The only thing different I've noticed between the wirel/less is that the wireless is heavier- which I like- it gives more control working with fine points etc. in PS and Illy
