you mean in 94 they got further than most people thoght?
i didn't find that impressive. They were on home turf to begin with, and they still only made it to the second round, finishing third in their group. Which i dont think is that impressive. And they didn't even make it to the group stages in 98.
When you put it into the context of developing country who simply don't have the money that was injected in US football in 94, i don't think it was impressive at all.
And in fact, the USA's first world cup was in 1930. Giving them quite a history. And they've been in consecutive world cups since, bar a few. They beat England for example in Brazil 1950.
