      Biography

Ashes57 is a graphic artist. In September 2003 she moved from London to Montreal with the aim of working exclusively on creative projects and immersing herself in the city’s large musical and artistic community. The urban landscape and the natural beauty of Canada were both important sources of inspiration and she spent the long winter nights doing line drawings and vector graphics for her own art projects.

Then in 2005, she took a 3-day bus ride to Hollywood and spent the summer working with Obey in his Los Angeles studio. After returning to Montreal, she was then offered a job as Art Director of Cool’eh Magazine in New York. This position offered a huge amount of creative freedom as she designed every aspect of this bi-monthly magazine and illustrated almost every page.

In New York, Ashes became involved in some of her most exciting and high profile projects to date. As dubstep first made its way to NYC, she soon became an important part of this exciting new musical scene through the flyers and posters she produced for the legendary Dub War parties. In 2007, Ashes designed the window display for the North Face stores all over the United States, which featured a number of large scale vector images. She then also worked on a Special Edition project for the North Face with a live painting display in their flagship Soho store and special launch event at the Alife boutique.
