Let's talk raises. Most of the time, they come with title changes and promotions, but what happens when you work in a small-ish startup and kinda on your own in your own department?
I started early on in the company timeline and have learned and grown a lot, but also outlasted all the other designers and kinda am the only one that do what I do through it all.
A promotion wouldn't really do anything for me as I don't have anyone below me. I ask my boss for his opinion/approval on everything, but that's all I report to.
I work in a company with 20 people and we all have our own roles under our Creative Director/Boss.
Where I am now vs. where I started is very different. I've only gotten a minor raise ($12k) after 1.5 years. I've asked for more, but "funds are low". It's true money is tight and I could look elsewhere, but I am also comfortable.

comfortable isn't a good thing sometimes.
- if you enjoy every aspect of the company, the overall purpose, respected for your contributions, and are challenged then i'd stick around a bitpockets
- good luck finding that btw.pockets
- I’m way too comfortable at work. Too scared to move companies and have to compete again.monospaced

I hear you both. I know the best way to get a raise is change jobs.
I know all of my coworkers very well and I'm not too keen to switch jobs to an unknown.
But I also know I could possibly get $25k more, if not more.
I just don't know where I want to work and I don't want to get a job I enjoy less.
- take the time to present what you encapsulate as a creative. get all your ducks in a row then look. there is always unknown's that's the beauty of it.pockets
- I feel the same way. I could make a lot more but I love what I'm doing and like everyone I work with. I look around but I doubt I'll find something better.CyBrainX

Instead, take the extra time to launch a sidejob and earn the difference from there.
