Find a great Indian place or start learning Indian recipes. Those guys are killer at vegetarian and vegan foods. Lentils and potatoes and chickpeas and tons of flavor. Maybe not your thing but it's a good place to start if you're adventurous.

- Veggies and hummus dip.
- Some kind of beans and rice dish (dirty rice, etc)
- Quinoa with stuff in it. Tough without onions and things that contain flavor that you've rejected.
- that thing with peanut butter on celery with raisins
Fruit, any
Bananas with Greek yogurt and mixed nuts, add honey or whatever if you want it sweeterNot that hard
- Minus the Greek yogurtsarahfailin
- Never minus the greek yoghurt. EVER.
ALWAYS buy 10%+ fat Yoghurt if you can - god, so good. So DAMN good.detritus - As much as I love houmous, you need to watch how much of that you eat if you've an eye on your weight...detritus
- oh right .. fucking dairy isn't vegan ... weirdos :)monospaced
- haha, oh yeah - that too.

Cut soda drinking and carbs for a bit, bread etc.

First, vegan doesn't necessarily lead to losing weight.
And everything vegan it's going to be basically carbs. You can eat avocado and nuts, which are rich in fat, or legumes that have protein — most of them only if combined with cereal.
But unless you want to drink vegetal oil, forget about eating vegan and low carb.
- no it doesn't necessarily lead to losing weight but it also definitely does not mean all carbs.fadein11
- It is not all carbs, but mostly carbssr_rosa
- generalisation - it can be but doesn't have to be at all.fadein11
- First, it is with the vast majority of vegetable sources, so it's not just about possibility but also probabilitysr_rosa
- And second, making a diet/meal low carb means it has to be high on protein — unlikely if vegan — or fat — not weight loss best option being more calorie densesr_rosa
- It is achievable to make a high protein vegan meal, but trying to make it every day is not really sustainable, unless repeating very oftensr_rosa
- a quick google search reveal hundreds of vegan low carb options, but let's agree to disagree.fadein11
- Read on 1st result: “most vegetables are low carbs, like tomatoes, onions, cauliflowers”. Tomatoes are 79% carbs, onions 90%, cauliflower 78%.sr_rosa
- 18 calories in a 100 gram tomato.fadein11
- but anyway lol - thanks for the info.fadein11
- That doesn't make it low carb, just low calories. If you eat just 100kcal a day, but 80% are carbs, still not qualifies as low carb.sr_rosa
- true yep - sorry I thought he was trying to lose weight.fadein11
- But instead of learning and thinking of nutrition as a whole plan, you can just Google and pick what fits any keyword. Seems legit.sr_rosa
- just pointing out that the calorie content of a tomato is actually v.low. Burn more calories than you consume = lose weight no?fadein11
- and no need to get your knickers in a twist.fadein11
- Low calories is not the same as low carbs, because low calories means low carbs, low protein and low fat, being carbs the highest of them.sr_rosa
- indeed yep - sorry I am totally wrong. you win.fadein11
- Also eating on a big calorie deficit is not sustainable, and the main point for weight loss is diet you can sustain over time, or you'll just bounce back.sr_rosa
- A tomato is mostly water anyway. Won't really satisfy hunger like something with more calories and substance in it.monospaced
- no shit sherlock - that's why dieting is hard. But yep agreed - like I said in my 1st post on this thread - vegan lunch is prob not the best idea. And low carbfadein11
- vegan food is possible. Jesus. Nothing to see here.fadein11
- Dieting is not hard. Everyone is on a diet, because diet is what you eat. What is hard is trying to make a diet based on wrong assumptions or unachievable goalssr_rosa
- I said 'dieting' - as in changing diet in an attempt to lose weight. Like I say thanks for the info - you are right, I was wrong.fadein11
- LOLsr_rosa
- no thanks - genuinely. I now know that vegans are 90% carbohydrate lolfadein11
- relax fadein11, I wasn't even arguingmonospaced
- nor was I?fadein11
- well, you came in with the "no shit sherlock" like you were ready to fight with setmonospaced
- haha - it's just a phrase - no not looking for a fight with anyone at all.fadein11
- fadein113
just eat a healthy balanced diet and not too much of it - you don't need to go vegan to lose weight lol.

- I got excited recently, told the kitchen here was going to start opening early and doing breakfasts. YES! No. Vegan breakfasts. No bacon, no eggs, no point.detritus
- The girl who told me actually LOL'd when she saw my face scrunch up as I tried to imagine what on Earth was left, before it dawned - porridge. Just porridge.detritus
- I mean, porridge is great - my blood is Scottish after all - but fuck's sake.detritus
- haha. I love porridge, but only with mushrooms, onions, courgette, tomato and peppersIanbolton
- You might be on to something there..!detritus
- < HA HA HA HA ROFLvero_vandal
- Haha. I've been eating veggie full english breakfasts for the past 6 months or so and genuinely prefer them. I enjoy tit just as much and feel infinitely...set
- ... better afterwards. Fuck vegan breakfast though.set
- Well I'm sure we all enjoy tit but this is the wrong thread for thatset
- if I ever bother with breakfast, it's egg-based. Bacon's a rare treat for me, but only mostly because I OD'd on it a few years ago so can't stomach much.detritus
- lowimpakt3
how do you get by not eating mushrooms, onions, courgette, tomatoes or peppers?
