Trying to get this as much exposure as possible...so here goes nothin.
MusicNewsHq.com is a side project I've been meddling with since around 2011. Over time I turned it into a fairly active, revenue generating site, but it's time for me to part with it.
I've written a case study / dissection of the approach I took creating the site, and hopefully a sales pitch in the process.
Give it a read? Share it with your friends? Thanks.

- There are some 404s but nowhere near that many in Google Webmaster Tools...not sure what tool this is but I don't think it's accurate?sublocked
- well it's a highly accepted seo tool, but i think you know by now from the logs what this is. and gwt i can't check...sted
- FWIW, that tools is broken. It's not setup properly to deal with relative paths I think. It's grabbing /login and /search and trying on wrong domains.sublocked
- don't know who told you that but sure its broken. what ever, we use this tool to evaluate sites before acquisition.sted
- just like this page with no images to show:
http://brandi-l-bate…sted - ^ That's not a 404 though.sublocked

Do you have a number in mind as far as a sale?
The write up is decent, but by no means a great sales pitch (imho). If you are really looking to sell think about consolidating the write up into 5 succinct points about why someone would want it-and how they could make money or benefit from it somehow.
Just my 2cents.

I do, but honestly I was waiting to see what kind of offers I got.
I wrote it up the way it is in order to hopefully attract the attention of the HackerNews/StackOverflow/crowd...
The sales pitch is near the bottom, but totally agree it could be improved. Probably something I need to refine. Appreciate the feedback!

FWIW, The number isn't that high at all.
It's a discounted number based on the number of hours I've put into the thing. Just enough to make it worth my time to transfer everything over and train someone how to keep it running.
I'd also be open to consulting and building out features for a limited time in support of a mobile app.

Makes sense. I wish you the best of luck and will pass it on.

Honestly man, it's not going to be very much.
From a serious investor you might get $1g, if he has great vision and feeling really generous about some of the development you have already put into the site.
The problem is your average revenue for user is $1.30 so the problem is scalability and monetization of those users and if you minus your expense from that revenue per user it drops dramatically.
If the monetization isn't already built in the site why would someone buy it if they have to develop new features and a new strategy?
I really love that you put this site together as a learning passion project and you will definitely be successful in your next venture.
Pass it on and keep creating.

an interesting writeup. but tbh, i really detest these sort of sites. you're right, $405 is not representative of the amount of work you've put in (i would have charged more to write that article)... but I don't think it's worth much more than that, and really, you'd be doing the internet a favour by pulling the plug.
- You're obviously not the target buyer market, but thanks for taking the time to check it out.sublocked
- google change their algorithms to stop shit like this, it's no surprise that it's not SEO friendly. only an idiot would buy it.kingsteven
