- Having a viewfinder + lens hood kind of defeats the purpose of having one that small, yeah? I always consider adding a viewfinder to my Ricoh...sublocked
- ...but then I couldn't shove it in my pants pocket.sublocked
- Not at all, I never pocket my cameras. I usually throw it into my bag. Sigma has a viewfinder that should be small enough to pocket the ricoh.futurefood
- This camera is amazing. I never leave the house without it. I don't use the finder or hood, though, I like it to appear as a consumer p&s.nb
- My dream is a tiny LCD screen on the top that would display the image so I could shoot while looking down at the camera.nb
- Pro tip: built-in flash and speedlights will sync even at 1/2000s on this.nb

These are the camera i wish I used more often, the fuji is amazing but after you add all the extras it gets big. i strip it down every now and then depending on what I want to shoot. The lenses a cool, love the 24mm. The 27mm was bought to reduce size, the 12mm is great for landscape stuff.
The nikon is a camera i bought for a girlfriend years ago, she forgot to take it and I've had it ever since, I'll shoot with it here and thee but haven't done anything crazy with it.
Looking to get another, smaller fuji to pair up with this one.
Fuji XT1
24mm
27mm
12mmNikon 35mm
35-70mm- that Fuji still is much lighter than a DSLRBennn
- Oh for sure, and its not really a problem... i just need a smaller camera I can grab and take where ever. Maybe not so worried about it getting banged upsofakingback
- Sorry for all the typos, multitask post.sofakingback
- are you selling your lenses?Bennn
- Try the X30, the 20 is my favourite 'small' camera but the 30 adds a proper digital viewfinder and other improvements.face_melter
- I've been looking at all those models, Even the xm1... most of these are getting a revamp soon though, I haven't played X30, Ill check it out.sofakingback
- Not selling my lenses, love them all, I shoulda got the 35mm over the 24mm and got a X100... but oh well. I really like the 24mmsofakingback
- I feel like I under-sold this set up. That XT1 is the best, most enjoyable, intuitive, shooting experience I've had with a camera. Couldn't be happier.sofakingback
- i just bought one. will receive it today!Bennn
- all the reviews are fantasticBennn
- Nice congrats! did you buy any lenses?sofakingback

- Nice shoespango
- Thanks Pango!see_thru
- Why's that meffid?see_thru
- Miss my old F3vaxorcist
- my lenses infinity mark is not the sharp point... so I never use it.sofakingback
- Cool! Had an F3 years back, now I have a canon F1. Both are great and seemingly indestructible.futurefood
- I want one of these. How's the top-down focusing for street photos? Quick enough for you?nb
- take off the eye piece?jaylarson
- Some lenses can be shot at "hard-stop" infinity.Being that it's an old MF Nikon AI(S) fixed lens, it's almost certainly fine to focus at the infinity stop.nb
- But, with AF and modern lenses, the hard-stop infinity isn't calibrated so if you rotate it all the way, you're probably out of focus.nb

I just bought a Fujifilm X-T1. Saw a good deal and jumped on it. Goodbye DSLR and hello mirrorless. The reviews of the X-T1 are all great. Goodbye Canon!
- how do you like it so far? I've been skeptical of AF on mirrorless. and the cost of the fuji lensesHijoDMaite
- will receive it today. i'll let you know! All the reviews are fantastic for the X-T1.Bennn

Looking for QBN's favourite film labs in NYC, preferably Manhattan, but I'll go further if need be.
My needs:
• Process c41 films (35mm & 120) without prints.
• Cheapest negs-only processingI'm also looking for recommendations of labs that can do c-prints. Doesn't need to be the same lab as film dev.
- PhanLo1
- It's a Panasonic Lumix GX9, should have put that in there.PhanLo
- This will be my next purchase, I've got the Oly water proof 17mm, 8mm fisheye, and the 45mm which is amazerobotron3k
- The only thing with the GX9 is it's not weather sealed and doesn't have a mic input. But it was all I could afford at the time. Glad I got it though.PhanLo

- Mad gear!
What do you shoot mostly?PhanLo - Cool, lot’s of GH4 fans!robotron3k
- ^ mostly for fun, artistic nudes, 90% of shooting is with the Oly these days. Once you use M43 compared to FF, it's hard to go back to lugging that weight.formed
- The GH's are for video and business (nice the M43 lenses work across platforms). The D800 collects dust.formed
- It would be good to see some of the shots.PhanLo
- Once I figure out how to post anonymously...I've just never gotten around to posting pics of work on QBN. Maybe I should change that.formed
- Mad gear!

I currently work with a Sony a7 RIV. It's the best camera I ever owned for what I do. Eye AF is very precise, so I can concentrate on creating compositions that I like. This is how a camera should be like in my opinion.
(I started out with Canon on film, later worked with Phase One in medium format, went back to Canon, switched to Sony in 2015).
- this camera has real personalityutopian
- very japanese, sophisticated and surprising...SimonFFM
- The IV is interesting, but once you go M43 it's hard to justify lugging the gear around. My FF cam sits in a case and rarely moves these days.formed
- It's all a matter of weight/space when you're out. I manage to stay below 8 kg in gear, so onboard luggage works out.SimonFFM
- Did you have the A7Riii before that? Interesting to know that you use Sony.PhanLo
- I switched to Sony A7III a month ago, really enjoying full frame for the first timeBennn
- Skipped the a7riii, came from a7rii. A7III is great, too!SimonFFM
- Got two of these. Real classy.robthelad
- I gave up on them after the Sony a7 R2. Did they ever fix their atrocious color science and issues focusing at higher f-stops?fate
- all their lineup has greatly evolved. They fixed everything.Bennn
- Sony A1 out nowHijoDMaite

I hope I am posting in the right thread.
Decided to purchase a new gimbal and went with the DJI RSC2. Lovely piece. As I am always puzzled when it comes to thinking 3D, I made an easy to follow setup guide:
- sameAQUTE
- Were you comparing it to the Crane 3S? Did you get the follow focus pieces?formed
- No, I used to have the Crane 2. It was decent, but obviously this one is better. Technology has changed so much, this is only 419 EUR now.SimonFFM
- Follow focus can be done without additional motors with this. That's amazing. But (don't laugh) I film with autofocus (face tracking works amazing on my Sony).SimonFFM
- grafician0
- cool, how do you like it?Bennn
- Always wanted to try one of these. Does the hot shoe work with any flash? Some cams allow only certain voltages and will not work with everythingfuturefood
- Probably X100F is better but this Ricoh is an icon nonetheless and glad they upgraded to a new version.
@Bennn it's on presale, can't get it yetgrafician - @futurefood not any flash, from what I remember that was used more with an external viewfinder.grafician
- @futurefood see the ecosystem here: http://www.ricoh-ima…grafician
- But overall, unless you're a pro, this camera can be easily outperformed by the latest iPhone with Halide photo app.grafician
- cropped sensor? or 4/3?HijoDMaite
- Yea, I dig those small flashes. going to have to check them out. I'm currently using the Nikon Coolpix A
https://i.ebayimg.co…futurefood - https://i.ebayimg.co…futurefood
- @Hijo full APS-C sensor, ISO 102400grafician
- @future that's a good one, was also on team Nikon a few years back, but these days Sony kinda rules everythinggrafician
- Almost pulled the trigger on the GRIII the other day. Guess I can wait a bit more to see how this reviews.duckseason
- I like the form factor of the Ricoh G's. Had a GX100 back in 'lomo days'. Was a great hipshot street photography camera as it was so stealth.microkorg

- I have a 1000s the 1.9. It’s cool but not my goto for MF.nb
- sell me your 1.9HijoDMaite
- O_O MF gets shallower dof compare to the 35mm FF. f/1.9 would be insane shallow...pango
- Yep, the DOF at 1.9 is wild, especially at close range. But shallow DOF is the most overrated thing in photography.nb
- I can't bear to sell my film cameras any more. I have a big collection but the problem is that it's becoming so hard to acquire this stuff!nb
- Mine too.ptrdo

So I got some new gear during the pandemic. Everything is bought used, most of the M42 mounts and SMC Pentax are like $10 lenses from online auctions or stuff I got from family and friends. The Pentax S3 with the two Takumar lenses were my dads, though. I remember him using it when I was a kid and I found them in a box when I cleaned out his apartment after he died last april.

Missing is a Sigma 35mm Art lens that I'm about to sell since I never use AF lenses and some Breakthrough CPL and ND filters.
I never post anything, really. But I'm out shooting maybe two times a week and I pretty much carry a camera with me everywere I go. I just like the process of taking pictures I guess.- I'm going to sell the Mamiya 654J and most of the M42 mounts. And the Canon 35-70.haga
- Love the Loxia line, great glass, especially the 21 and 85 but I pretty much only use the 21 and 35.haga
- wow!Bennn
- That’s cool man. I almost picked up a recently CLA’d Rolleiflex 3.5F today $1,300. I may still get it.HijoDMaite
- Hijo, after I started to use the Mamiya I don't see how I ever would be able to get foucs without the magnifier.haga
- But I really like the size of the Rollies, I alwasy expected them to be huge.haga
- And the Canon EOS 650 is the first Canon in the EOS line. It's fully electronic but shoots film. "Fun fact of the day"haga
- Yooooooooooooooo!ok_not_ok
