Just splashed the cash on a ruddy brand new macbitch pro with a fully maxed up spec. And the silly bugger has the fan kicking in and sounding like the thing is about to flipping take off! Any of youse had this issue. Is it common or shall I do a dropkick on some apple genius bod and complain like a beyatch!

The apple thread has a lot of loud, annoying fans. Maybe they can help?

- Apple thread has bout 2x more mouth frothing haters than fans. That's a simple fact.monospaced
- Well yea mono but that fact is lacking in any form of humour whatsoeverset
- suremonospaced
- I think this is why you got the whole aspergers label. Literal without any shred of humour just comes across weird in situations like thisset
- Holy shit you know I have a sense of humor. And yeah maybe I thought this one wasn't funny, doesn't mean I don't get it though.monospaced
- lol I knowset

you're probably trying to do work on it?
I find that using Facebook for eight hours a day keeps the fan quiet. Don't click on the buzz feed links either.

new laptop - that sucks. happened to my old macbook, ended up being a broken chip that monitors the temperature - fixed for free luckily.
- Another Apple Innovation®utopian
- Another ctrl-v Utopian post™inteliboy
- Why would anyone criticize apple for fixing stuff for free? So weird. You are really reaching utopian.monospaced

I honestly only understood about a third of the original post but if the fans are indeed 'kicking in' try looking at Activity Monitor and check if any processes are running beyond capacity - normally towards 300% CPU usage. kernel_task is a regular culprit caused by a badly-coded or incompatible extensions.

Mine had the same problem. The fan constantly revved up like a jet and the ruddy pro wouldn't quiet down. One day, in a spell of rage at the incessant fan, I tossed it out the window. Seconds later I get up to see the ruddy macbitch pro on the ground - smashed to bits. Imagine my surprise when I look down and see nothing. I look up, the ruddy pro was flying. FLYING!!
Now I have a chrome book. no fans.

I had the same issue with my brand new macbook pro. I bought it about two months ago and the fan would fire up even when doing fairly basic tasks and was so loud I thought I'd have to send the thing back.
Your post has just reminded me of that, because since then it's just occurred to me that it's been fine and hasn't noticeably happened since. Weird.
