A friend of mine is moving to Santa Fe and I was wondering if someone can recommend a few places to go for non-mainstream music and other 'cool' places to hang out. Tnx

which santa fe is your friend moving to?
- New Mexico makes the most sense.monospaced
- to you perhaps, to me Santa Fe Argentina makes more sense :)Miguex
- haha @ mig. nice.lvl_13
- Well, seeing that I was born only a few hours from there, that's what makes sense to me hahaMiguex
- Oh, you mean Santa Fe de la Vera Cruz. Yes, a globally-renowned city, easily confused with Santa Fe, NM.monospaced
- Oh, I'm sorry.. you must be talking about "La Villa Real de la Santa Fe de San Francisco de Asís", NMMiguex
- With that long of a name, I can see how it's "globally confused" hahaMiguex

- I'm not talking about drinking malbec, I'm talking about drinking chili beer! And Argentines don't know anything about pica!canoe

In New Mexico:

I was recently there and I got to visit this place called Ojo Caliente, it's in the middle of nowhere, but it was fairly cheap on a weeknight, I think like $20 per person. One of the most relaxing things ever, puff puff prior to go, make sure you go in the evening

- I went there!
It's actually a taco shop called "Twisters"Miguex

I'm actually curious too. My parents retired in New Mexico and I've been to Santa Fe at least a half dozen times. Each time I get less and less enchanted with that town. Last time I was there it was nothing but old people in tourist busses buying cheap indian jewelry. Even the Georgia O'Keefe museum wasn't that great.
A few good road trips are White Sands National Monument, Puye Cliff Dwellings, and Taos.

Wow. I can't imagine with the paddling, hiking, spelunkering and fresh food that he's going to be bored.
But of course you grew up there, so that's that.
