Nerve damage takes forever to heal, a nurse put a needle in my median nerve and my hand was messed up for at least six months. In Canada you would have no case:
In Canada, bouncers have the right to use reasonable force to expel intoxicated or aggressive patrons. First, the patron must be asked to leave the premises. If the patron refuses to leave, the bouncer can use reasonable force to expel the patron. This has been upheld in a number of court cases.
This would be considered reasonable force. Once the Judge finds out you were asked to leave, and you said no, it's go time.

I always thing we these things it's how you feel...
I remember feeling ripped off when I was charged thousands in a strip joint. I was so drunk I don't remember a thing. So I called the bank to find out the sequence of transactions: between 1am-3am I had spent like $200, between 3-4:30am $2,400.
So I called the place and requested the tapes, and it turned out I was slumped at the bar still talking but to two strippers (fully clothed) for an hour and they rinsed me.
I ended up getting back all the money in that one hour period, but I had to fight for months, eventually meeting the owner for a quiet chat in the strip joint.
Keep fighting if you feel you've been wronged.

pushed your hand down? like in pulled on your hand? or twisted it back? I've had my hand pulled on with someones full weight and needed some kind of physical therapy for a while and a brace on my hand to stabilize it, it was also my right hand. To date i'm careful with it.
about compensation, hmm not sure, since you did refuse, i'm willing to bet there's a law that protects them from you. maybe i'm wrong, but bouncers and those cheap security guys live for this kind of shit. good luck.
- did you get an x-ray? if not, do it asap.sea_sea
- it might just be sprained. get a wrist/hand wrap. it will help the pain by keeping it stable and some ibuprofen for inflammation.sea_sea

Security guys are people who always wanted to be police officer or in the army but didnt' manage to do it and are frustrated.

don't freak out, the worse it can be is a torn ligament, (which will get better over time, sorry) doubt they broke your hand. it sounds more like a sprain. i couldn't move or use my hand, it was swollen and painful. just take ibuprofen (advil) or flanax for the inflammation for now, it helps a lot. If you're in australia, not sure what you have there. keeping it wrapped up with a really helps too. you might have to take a few days off from work, sorry.
i used a sport brace, something like this, works great.

I think you'll be alright mate. But you must report it to the police. Not necessarily to press charges but the event needs to be formally logged as it were. So incase you do need to sue etc. it's been accounted as actually happening.
- set0
I feel for you mate but you can't fucking sue. They asked you to leave and you refused. As stated above they have the right to use force to remove you...

would it be normal to have this numb total pins n needles feeling in my thumb and forefinger with a sprained wrist though? i dont care about broken bones or torn ligaments im just concered about nerves of some sort being irreverdibly damaged and in this pain forever :(
- yes it's normal. don't stress so much. did you take a painkiller? once the pain starts going away you'll see that it's not forever. just take good care of it so it heals properly now, or you will have an issue with it later in life. breath. ;)sea_sea
