Page flip (animated) cannot be in the PDF, so there's no Indesign function.

- But just Googling "page flip pdf" brings up a myriad of solutions.monospaced

wwfc - I think you might consider talking the client out of it. They certainly do not NEED this.monospaced

Import the PDF into InDesign, output an interactive PDF with page flip navigation.

the only way I can imagine it working cross-device/platform is via HTML

Don't think it's possible. We use these fuckers... http://www.pagesuite.com/

Usually cross-platform for these involves generating both a Flash version and an HTML version with device detection.
I've used this: http://flippingbook.com/

the reason why you see a lot of solution in Google with PDF page flip is because a lot of tools let you IMPORT a PDF, but the actual page flip is not a PDF. It will be either Flash or HTML / JS.
An actual pdf with page flip is not possible to my knowledge.

thanks for all of the replies folks... appreciate it.
i guess, in short - it can't be done within a pdf format - but can be done with a little compromise. let's see what they say !
***what they will actually probably say is "can't you just use the 'pageflip' button... you know the one? it's next to the 'make the logo bigger' button on your keyboard!"***
:-p
