Facebook will die, eventually. This is a good example of the problems they face as a one trick pony.
They could, possibly, buy there way to more diversity (Google looks set to take over the world, literally, Apple seems content with making newer versions of the same old, which is pretty damn risky too, though they could buy their way out too, but they don't seem to have any interest).
I do know some people making their businesses work off of FB. BUT they relied on reaching their fans, now that FB has limited that to 3-5% of your "fans" that are reached per post, it is substantially limiting its usefulness (and they don't have the money to 'promote' every photo that is posted).
- twitter is more of a one trick ponymoldero
- Facebook has 2 tricksmoldero
- Twitter is making a homepage like FB and G+, so they should have 2 tricks soonformed
- I think it's safe to assume Apple isn't just making the same thing.monospaced
- They kinda invented the "same old," which everyone has copied, and they have promised new categories.monospaced

Can't remember if there was another tread already about this, but is anyone else surprised at how bad the newest redesign is? The mix of serif fonts for headlines, and non-serif fonts elsewhere is very odd and ugly.
- The serif type felt out of place, but certainly demands attention and lends a new and necessary hierarchymonospaced

When you realize that your feed is being created by mindless bots you gotta make a decision if you want to live in the world designed by dumb machines. Truth is facebook as as relevant to me as yesterday's vomit.

Facebook just has a shitty search algorithm I would think. How hard would it be to match content of a company to all the other users on facebook?
I see it when a local business where I live pops up in my newsfeed.
Their problem is they are not acquiring other companies, some but not enough to entice people to buy shares and advertise on facebook.

one thing i do like about Facebook is social logins tho.
- Why? I don't want my online activity cross-referenced with Facebook.i_monk
- easier than remembering logins. maybe not great if you post personal info on Facebook. all i use it for.doesnotexist
- actually they cross-reference you even if you don't log in, unless you got cookies disabled.uan

"Sorry, but there is no way to get the entire list of the people who have liked a Page. " - off course, a lot of them are fake

i dont really use Facebook for ''friends'' connection anymore. Facebook have become a big RSS reader for me. I've created 15 differents lists to follow all the stuff i want. Like ''Music'', ''Movies & TV'', "Graphic Design" etc. Everytime i Like a page, I put it in the right list. Sadly, Facebook have become THE place to have the last news of almost everything.
- it's always last on fbsine
- this is what twitter is forcbass99
- you have lists? I've been systematically removing my likes so I don't see more junkmonospaced
- < I'd love to see what you like (apart from Apple obviously).fadein11

If someone deletes their Facebook account, do the friends get a notice or alert about it?
- nohotroddy
- So basically all that happens is their friend count drops by 1, but they don't know who is gone, right?iCanHazQBN

Government Set Up A Fake Facebook Page In This Woman’s Name
A DEA agent commandeered a woman’s identity, created a phony Facebook account in her name, and posted racy photos he found on her seized cell phone. The government said he had the right to do that. Update: Facebook has removed the page and the Justice Department said it is reviewing the incident.
