- Nice. I'll have to have a muck about with this.Ianbolton
- Yeah no, don't believe this works as in this video, it probably depends A LOT on the actual original microphone and most phone recordings will be trashgrafician

InDesign 2023 will not close normally, have to force quit it every time.

Adobe Stock selling AI generated stock "art"...
- Looks more like 'People using the Adobe stock marketplace are selling AI-generated "art"'Nairn
- Yes paying for a stock subscription to get this crap instead...
I swear Adobe is the worse at everything!grafician - Getty banned the sale of AI art https://www.theverge…grafician

The fantastic Width Tool in Illustrator is almost addicting. Why can't we have that in any other program? It's been more than 10 years. There are workarounds for it in Illustrator but it's a bitch to deal with.

- This: https://i.imgur.com/…CyBrainX
- I meant there are workarounds for it in After Effects.CyBrainX
- Aah! Yes, that's One of like Five things I think are worthwhile updates since forever in Illy.Nairn
- I used another vector app on Mac who had width tool
Actually the really tricky feature is Blend...
Figma has some blend plugins tho'grafician - Btw if you do type and use the width tool, try https://www.lttrink.…grafician
- it's a breeze to use in Moho. Same with Moho's magnet tool for pushing anchor points around. all works beautifullyshapesalad
- So it is possible to code usable tools, but Adobe - no... but maybe since they bought figma they will learn some UI/UX skills?shapesalad
- No they won't, Adobe CC = crapwaregrafician

Punches Ai for drawing by default a line with a fill instead of a STROKE!
- this is what i'm talking about - a simple bit of if/else code would make their software massively easier to useshapesalad
- shift-X ?uan
- Wouldn't either one be annoying half the time?CyBrainX
- ^Nairn
- I still don't understand what SS demands here unless he expects AI to be intelligent and prescient. As you say, 50%+ of the time, it'll get whatever wrong.Nairn
- Personally I'd love it if every new form came with a 0.01pt stroke and no fill, but I'm like 0.001% of AI users, so I click on such a thing first, THEN start.Nairn
- It should use your last setting or whatever is presently set in fill/stroke when nothing is selected. Then, offer options in preferences to change how it works.CyBrainX
- Why would a LINE have a FILL?!
What's the logic?grafician - There's no 'draw line' tool, it's just the pen which isn't specific, just beziers. Start with the the pencil or brush and it defaults to a black line.MrT
- the logic is that a lot of the time, people use the fucking line tool to draw a shape with a fill you cretinmonospaced
- monospaced That's the PEN TOOL the line tool is a DIFFERENT TOOL you TOOL!grafician
- CyBrainX yeah it seems to keep the LAST settings saved somehow somewhere and have no clue how to change that behaviour to something else by default! Grrrrgrafician

I am 6 months into my yearly plan... went to cancel it...
get past the warning of early cancelation fee = £130...
to get offer of next 60days for free
bringing the yearly plans monthly average down a bit...
will see what I can get when it renews in 6 months time.I did try the chat thing to get a better offer... but pushed for time so didn't bother pushing it too much.
- TLDR: worth cancelling plan mid way through subscription to see if what offer you can get.shapesalad
- grabby fuckers are desperate to keep their poor value scammy racket goinghans_glib
- keep in mind the offer that gets will start a new yearly subscription, so you are hooked for another 12 monthszaq
- fadein114
Okay, we all know the threatening to cancel subscription gets you the reduced rate.
But this year I got the best yet.
Was going up from around £30 (discounted) to £54 a month.
I have just secured £19 a month all app package (best deal I've had yet).
A 5 minute live chat, they don't even try to argue.
Good start to the day, if you are a freelancer, do it.- I was thinking of trying it but I thought I'm happy enough with just paying half for it. but hey congrats, because for me that's what's it's actually worth.oey_oey
- sorry for the "that's what's it's..." :-)
I would only update/upgrade every three years so if you divide the yearly cost by three you'll have +-20€/monthoey_oey - yeah you've got a good deal anyway, mine was going from £30ish to £54 a month. But it's this really low deal that got me excited :)fadein11
- can you do it mid cycle? I'm on £54 till may!shapesalad
- Don't think I have done it mid cycle before, just when the discount ends.fadein11
- ah bummer.... well i might try when i get a quiet moment, see if mid cycle works.shapesalad
- Yes, $19 is the lowest they will go. I had that before cancelling last year, now this year back to $60 or so, kind reminder to call them again for the new dealgrafician
- ROTFL ROTFL ROTFL ROTFL ROTFLsted
- @fadein11 nice one, thanks :)sted
- Why does Adobe make one haggle each and every year for a reduced discount?utopian
- Because love the beggars?:D It's like a club, some make it a hobby to talk to the support once a year. You can get creative like grafician when the $:£ is 1:1sted
- @sted Adobe keeps the same price offer, they just change the currencygrafician
- didnt even have to speak to anyone this year, just did cancel and followed the steps past the threat of a cancellation fee - 30 a month. bo! took 2 minswoowahesque
- palimpsest2
You can pay half the price for Adobe if you play your cards right.
Downvote to the left!- And you can use Adobe products to design those cards.shapesalad
- oey_oey1
So it's that time of the year.
I was charged 61,59€ for my Adobe CC subscription.
I was like okay, I will cancel it.I'm canceling it and step by step I come to a window with an offer that is basically the same as what I'm paying now, 35,69€
Still, the offer marked as "best offer" is 2 months free then 61,59 a month.
I mean, what?! how is this possible?
Fior sure this will be possible to do every year, so why would anyone choose the "best offer"?I'm talking with an assistant now and check.
I really like to be able to use Adobe at the end of the day and I have 22 years of work.I really gave a thought today about quitting, but then come the questions like "what if I need it?"
- Things is I could just buy one version and maybe would need a new version in three years. Like Affinity did. Maybe I don't need the new version. Damn.oey_oey
- I mean, I make enough money to pay for it but...oey_oey
- The best thing would be to get a job for a company that hands me a MBP to work with Adobe CC and that doesn't mind me to use it for my own workoey_oey
- I'm on it this now... every year, the same bs :(OBBTKN
- I spoke with my partner and she said come on 35€? Just keep it and continue to support Affinity and continue to learn how to use it.oey_oey
- If the day comes they don't offer you a good subscription plan the quit when that time comes. Industry standard is an important factoroey_oey
- Personal projects Affinity. Client work Adobe.oey_oey
- If it's for photoshop - just use http://photopea.com instead.shapesalad
- or little snitch + cracked versionshapesalad
- ah missed those days. Adobe CS6oey_oey
- You just need to get ahead of the game. Set yourself a reminder and you'll keep paying half the price.
#don't be a chumppalimpsest - ^ hahaha!oey_oey
- I actually do that every year...but this year I had some serious family health business going on. no lets purchase V2 of Affinity :-)oey_oey
- No.
I think you're fucked for the whole year.
If you open an OnlyFans and post pics of your feet I'm in!palimpsest - What?!oey_oey
- Did I fucking stutter?palimpsest
- Affinity is amazing for non-professionals but spend an afternoon working with it and you'll pay anything for Photoshop.SlashPeckham

- Look in System Settings > Privacy & Security > scroll down to Security. It might be you need to give permission to the app to run.Continuity
- That's what happened with my and my Wacom drivers when I updatedContinuity
- Ironically this is one of the Creative Cloud processes you can actually disable and work just fine.evilpeacock
