Why do i need to pay for an adobe stock membership on top of my adobe membership! I get paying for stock images, but why per month? A client sent me 7 images they want on adobe stock and now I'm going to have to subscribe just for those images. At least i will get the first month free, but i hate that everything is monthly bullshit now.

    • btw if u don't use the images monthly, they add up but ONLY to 120 images total - after that, they just take the moneyz and you got 120 images forevergrafician
    • ^the PM who thought of that needs a big raise and also to be put in the Punches For threadgrafician
    • not to mention if your card on file expires or not enough cash on it, you CANNOT access even those 120 images/credits you have on file
      it's literally extortion
      grafician
    • The irony is that I milk the free with CC sub categories all-the-time! Especially vector images since those are easily repurposed.evilpeacock
    • Another annoying thing is that 3D materials for Substance Designer are another payment on top of Adobe Stock.CyBrainX
    • Yes, everything 3D - they have an entire suite of apps now - is a separate subscription and not cheap, with 2 tiers for 30 and 50 materials per monthgrafician
    • Their materials are nice but that's not really worth it.CyBrainX
  • BusterBoy2

If you're a CC subscriber...just a tip if you haven't already done so. I went on to online chat the other day and basically said I wanted to cancel. You have to be prepared to push hard, which I did...said no to the small concessions they offered. When they switched me through to some other person, I was basically given 3 months free and a reduction in my subscription by around 40%. No strings...easy.

Fuck adobe and fuck the cloud.

We had Adobe libraries forced on us by a dickhead at work because he was too lazy to follow basic file management practices. An update to the cloud app happened overnight and libraries are busted. Every job needs to be relinked from source files on the server.

I'd rather dig holes for a living than do this shit.

    • it's time for the dickhead to come forwardoey_oey
    • That dickhead will ruin you life before and after Adobe.CyBrainX
    • silly customer! you cannot fuck a cloud!sarahfailin

Adobe finally added the Adobe color picker to After Effects Colorama after a quarter century.

In relation to ^this, I think Adobe have realised what their saturation point is in terms of being able to extract coin each month.

I say this as I just today capitulated and went to sign up to Photoshop again as I just can't fucking do Affinity Photo because I can get done much quicker and better in PS than I can in that bloody thing.

Right there, without asking - 40% 'offer', so I now have the whole CC suite again, most of which I'll never personally use. Nd yes, in 12 month's time, the usual dance around the maypole on live support maintaining the same offer that I couldn't be bothered with last time.

    • It's amazing we're really negociating with a multi billion company for pennies...grafician
    • Amazing for Adobe...not for me. The difference in price is 2 or 3 streaming services I also pay for! :)BusterBoy
  • i_monk4

Who asked for this? The people I'm sending these files to don't have Creative Cloud and aren't going to sign up for Adobe accounts (or whatever hoops) to 'review' the final files. Fuck off Adobe.

    • Eventually you will only be able to save to the cloud.hydro74
    • "Anyone can comment without an account"evilpeacock
    • ...but I'd still never use it.evilpeacock
    • "Maybe later"... Maybe never!shapesalad
    • Still assumes "review" and a dogshit workflow. Job starts in email, then goes through adobe?i_monk
    • Resistance is futile BUT I too hate that Adobe perceive ‘share for review’ to be a better way. I’ve used it with tech savvy clients BUT folks want a .pdf.ideaist
    • Adobe should just integrate with email and “share” should just export the pdf and make the attachment in a new email.monospaced
    • Creative teams could get approval internally with it. Could it really be that much worse than something like Wrike? I'd love to stop using pile of manure.CyBrainX

    Riddle me this:

Why does it yank layers out of a clippiing mask whenever you duplicate a layer within a clipping mask?

I always have to put those layers back in just because I duplicated a layer below. So annoying.

  • PonyBoy3

I got my fucking credits back!!!!

It took nearly four months of convincing Adobe agents via their support chat (not one vocal conversation... 100% chat room support) ...but one of those bastards hung in there w/me until the very end to see my already-paid-for credits restored.

Now I can search through garbage imagery for hours and actually download it if need-be!! <3

    • What, you don't like paying for the same shit over and over? Huh.

      ;)

Every couple of years Adobe will run a promotion where I can save some money but retain all my apps / credits etc (I usually find out about it from one of you clowns here on QBN, I'd gleefully honk your big red noses if I could)...

However... currently I'd rip my hair out if I could... but I don't have any.

I contacted sales and had them set me up w/the promo pricing about 4-5 months back and it looked like I was good-to-go.

I found out the hard way that their online sales staff (via chat) are fucking useless as all of my already-paid-for stock credits vanished.

The first time I went to grab a stock image I see ALL my stored up credits from YEARS of payments were gone. Mind you - I hit their ceiling in terms of how many credits you can have (which is fucked up in itself as they cap you but continue charging you each month to retain those credits).

I should have 120 image credits... I paid for them... just because I take advantage of a promo doesn't mean what is already paid for should be wiped out - yes??

I've been battling 2+ months now to get my credit restored.

In my mind all I did was 'refinance my loan'... If a person pays 2 years of car payments that money paid towards their loan doesn't just disappear and they start over at the top...

...what a bunch of fucking thieves.

    • Adobe stock images... just don't even bother.shapesalad
    • Just cancel your subscription, online, you get an offer thing come up. Take offer. It's best to do this a few weeks before the annual renewal.shapesalad
    • I'm just trying to get back what I already paid for. I rarely use their stock (I'm capped out @ 120)... but it's often handy on a quick cheap project.PonyBoy
    • Every once in a while the company I work for tells us how many unused Adobe Stock credits we have or how many Getty things we need to download or lose.CyBrainX
    • They, we all have to go on a downloading festival.CyBrainX

I just received my annual subscription increase via email. So once again, I will have call some person who barely speaks English at one of Adobe's off-shore call centers (India) and tell them that I'm canceling myself subscription...so that I can continue getting my subscription at my existing price. Fuck you Adobe for making me do this every year.

The 20 minute phone call with Adobe always ends like this.

"Great news Mr. Michael, I just spoke with my manager and we are going to upgrade your subscription at the existing price...thank you for being a valuable customer of Adobe, good day sir."

You know what would be cool?

If Photoshop had the same non-destructive style of applying filters and effects like After Effects. Basically the layers would work teh same like the ones in AE. That you can quickly switch on or off or adjust per layer basis.

  • ETM0

^ If you go to cancel online it offers you the deal too. Why waste time with support? I done it this way for the last 3 years.

    • I used to chat and this year I also followed the online cancel and it workedoey_oey

llustrator on a 4k laptop screen...

If I'm trying to select or cut a stroke, it takes me like 6 tries,as I have to be so damn precise even if the stroke width is huge! I have to zoom all the way in every time. Really messing with my patience here.

It doesn't happen on my monitor at home as it's standard dpi.

    Anyone resolved this?

Been playing with Adobe Aero today in the office.
It's so easy to use. Trying to do AR in the past was such headache I'd always give up.

    • Fuck, Adobe! You've done good?Ianbolton
